The business community through the Chamber, city government, county government and the community college have forged a strong partnership to work and support existing businesses and entrepreneurs pursuing new ventures in the community. This guide provides a menu of resources and information specific to starting and operating a business in Lufkin/Angelina County.


Educational Assistance & Resources

Angelina College Small Business Development Center

Assistance is available from the Small Business Development Center at Angelina College for existing and prospective small businesses with the objective of improving management and operational skills. Included are workshops, seminars and one-on-one counseling services (936)633-5400.

Angelina College Procurement Assistance Center (ACPAC)

ACPAC is a non-profit organization that assists the businesses of the Texas Forest Country in competing for and wining government contracts from the federal, state, and local government agencies. ACPAC is funded each year by the Department of Defense through a cooperative agreement with Angelina College. Services offered by ACPAC are FREE and consist of: Computerized Bid-match Services; Counseling Assistance; Government Contract Histories; Military Specifications and Department of Defense Adopted Industry Standards; Access to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Department of Defense (DoD) Regulations, and forms or information from other federal and state agencies; and Workshops and Conferences on Contracting (Radio Frequency Identification, Electronic Data Interchange, Contracting, Veterans Going into Business).
