Mission:
To maintain a high performance, work-relevant, nontraditional school for the 21st Century that motivates, encourages and prepares students for success in school, in the workforce, and in life.
Eligibility:
- live in one of the five participating school districts in Angelina County (Central, Diboll, Hudson, Lufkin, or Zavalla);
- be between 16 & 21 years of age and no longer enrolled in an accredited high school or have been determined at-risk of dropping out of school;
- be granted a referral from their home school principal and/or counselor.
Program:
Stubblefield Learning Center is based on flexibility and personalized self-paced courses. All basic academic courses plus a wide variety of vocational classes are offered at SLC.
- school hours vary according to work schedules and classes are available Monday - Thursday, 7 AM to 5 PM and Friday, 7AM to 3 PM.;
- students must attend classes four hours a day, 5 days a week;
- students will earn a diploma from their home school and are expected to participate in the SLC Commencement Program;
- Stubblefield Learning Center is a TEA accredited school and an extension of the 5 county schools.
