About the Diplomats
The objective of the Diplomat committee is threefold. First - to assist the Chamber in welcoming and servicing businesses in the area. Second - to stimulate communication and business between local Chamber members. Third - to have fun. Among some of the activities are: ribbon cuttings, welcoming committee, mixers, Chamber events, new member receptions and new member contacts.
Annual dues are $50.
A breakfast meeting is held the THIRD THURSDAY of each month (February-November) at the Chamber (or other locations). The January meeting is held the Thursday prior to the Annual Banquet at the Civic Center. In lieu of a December meeting, Diplomats are invited to attend a Volunteer Appreciation Party at the Chamber office.
- All Diplomats Club members should plan to do the following things:
- Attend ribbon cuttings/award ceremonies.
- Attend monthly Diplomats meetings.
- Serve on one Diplomats committee.
- Help decorate for the Annual Banquet.
- Attend Chamber events.
- Attend as many Diplomats-sponsored events and activities as possible including the Member Receptions.
Diplomats will receive faxed or E-mailed updates, meeting notices and reminders on a regular basis. Updated information and events will be available on the Diplomats Club section of the website.
Each member is required to purchase a Diplomats name badge. The badge is to be worn when hosting, greeting or attending a ribbon cutting ceremony. Name badges are purchased at cost by each Diplomat.
DIPLOMAT OF THE YEAR AWARD
Diplomats receive points for active participation on committees and event attendance. Diplomats who reach 125 points by December 15th, will be considered Chamber Stars and are eligible to receive the Diplomat of the Year Award presented to one Diplomat at the Annual Banquet.
