The Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce that the Leading Edge 2022 applications are now live.
Leading Edge is a fellowship program empowering early to mid-career professionals for lifelong community engagement and leadership through service on nonprofit boards. What differentiates this group from others is its demonstrated commitment to mentorship. Each Leading Edge member is paired with an accomplished senior executive who can help them navigate the road ahead with valuable insight and experience.
Through these key tenets of knowledge and connections, Leading Edge thrives on a desire to enrich the Lufkin community while simultaneously propelling their own careers. The program also includes a board governance leadership training segment within each session, facilitated by the Angelina College Center for Nonprofit Leadership, and culminates at the celebratory graduation.
Graduates will also obtain a certificate in Board Governance from Angelina College and the opportunity to be placed into a Board Bank.
Leading Edge is a six-month program beginning in January 2022. Participants will meet once a month for a half-day in the Chamber Community Room. Tuition for this program is $500. Applications can be downloaded HERE. The deadline is Nov. 19 at 5 PM. Completed applications can be sent to Director of Leadership Programs, Jessica Hill at [email protected] or drop it off at the Chamber, 1615 S. Chestnut, Lufkin.
If you have any questions about the program, don’t hesitate to reach out. The Chamber is excited about the opportunities Leading Edge will provide for future graduates and the difference it will make in the nonprofit organizations serving Angelina County.
